2003 :

Technology partner in a research and evaluation consultancy (Stonebridge Research Associates). Responsible for providing data analysis, multimedia support, and management information systems for use in social and organisational research. Gaining experience in qualitative analysis using Grounded Theory.

February ~ September 2001

Software Support Engineer. NRG Surveys, Llanfairfechan, North Wales. Responsible for customer technical support and software documentation. Gaining experience in development with Embedded Visual Basic for Windows CE, and the practical use of GPS and surveying.

Created geodetic data transformation software for use with GPS (Global Position System) applications for mobile computing.

Carried out Measurement Engineering for a road-building project, using computer aided Digital Terrain Modelling.

October and November 2000

Systems Developer, Nationwide Site Services (UK) PLC, Mold, North Wales. Part of the IT Department within a scaffolding company, involved in support and programming of systems using SQL Server, Access 2000 and Visual Basic.

December 1998 ~September 2000

Database Administrator, North West Wales Employment Zone, Bangor, North Wales. Mainly using Delphi to Implement and manage a client tracking Database, producing management information and statistical analysis. Gaining experience of Labour market research and the strategic evaluation of social policy, often working closely with central government.

February 2000

Undertook a secondment to Celtec, the North Wales TEC, working with a range of information systems.Including Windows NT, MS Exchange and SQL Server.

Summer 2000

Provided Technical support and Management Information analysis for successful Employment Zone tender for new funding. Other responsibilities included general IT support and training of up to 17 users.

Involved in analysis and design of new systems, implementing a web-based Client Relations Management system, including the programming of successful electronic information interchange, As wells as a new Local Area Network.
